Updated Lectionary @ Lunch+ platform now available

Concordia Theology [1],” the faculty blog site of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, now features an upgraded version of Lectionary @ Lunch+ [2], a refreshed online resource offering an expanded collection of homiletical materials for pastors, students and other church workers.

The original Lectionary at Lunch tool grew out of the Seminary’s weekly Wednesday lunch tradition in Wartburg Hall, where students and professors gathered to work through the Old Testament and Gospel lessons from the lectionary in the original languages. Over time, these sessions were recorded as online audio files and later supplemented by an online discussion forum, making the tradition accessible beyond campus.

The upgraded Lectionary @ Lunch+ restores seven years of previously missing content and adds resources developed since 2018. Users now have access to the “Lectionary Kick-start” podcast, two new video series — the “Greek Lectionary Lab” and the “Hebrew Lectionary Lab” — “Homiletical Helps” from Concordia Journal, Seminary chapel sermon recordings and more. The platform also features a refreshed design with updated colors and improved navigation.

“Faithfully preaching the word of God is an honor, but it is also demanding,” said Dr. Kevin Golden [3], dean of Theological Research and Publication. “Lectionary @ Lunch+ puts a wealth of resources at our pastors’ fingertips. Our faculty is blessed to offer their insights to assist pastors as they proclaim Christ to their congregations.”

The Seminary is committed to preparing pastors and church leaders who are faithful to Scripture and expertly equipped for the challenges of ministry. Resources like Lectionary @ Lunch+ extend that same depth of theological training beyond the classroom, giving users confidence that the materials are academically rigorous, pastorally sensitive and designed to serve the church well.

Lectionary @ Lunch+ is available now at “Concordia Theology [4].”
