DESCRIPTION:Treasures Old and New: A Workshop on Adult Faith Formation\nThis workshop addresses the missional challenges pastors and leaders in the LCMS face in a “post-Christian” context. It introduces a model of adult faith formation based on early church catechumenal practices. Participants will explore new ways to form disciples\, shape Christian identity through the Bible and sacraments\, and foster hospitality in congregational life. Focused on a broader approach to adult faith formation\, this workshop emphasizes faith formation as a flexible process rather than a “new program.” Pastors from three exemplary parishes will share their experiences\, showing how faith formation practices can revitalize parish life and engage the entire congregation in shaping the faith of new Christians. \n\n\n\n\nDr. Kent Burreson\nProfessor of Systematic Theology\, Louis A. Fincke and Anna B. Shine Professor of Systematic Theology\nFew people know the liturgical landscape as well as Dr. Kent Burreson. He has made a significant contribution to our understanding of the liturgy’s history — how it has remained the same and how it has changed.
