Rev. Larry Rockemann Is New Dean of Student Life at Concordia Seminary

Rev. Larry Rockemann has accepted the call to serve as Dean of Student Life and Assistant Professor of Practical Theology at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. As Dean of Student Life, Rev. Rockemann will head the division at the Seminary which oversees all aspects of student life, including spiritual life, financial assistance and housing. He will begin his new responsibilities on July 1.

Rev. Rockemann brings 20 years of pastoral experience to his new position at Concordia Seminary. He has served as senior pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Bristol, Conn. since 1992. Prior to this, he served congregations in Illinois and Texas. He also served as campus pastor at Concordia University, River Forest, Ill.

"Pastor Rockemann is a highly-respected pastor who brings a significant record of effective pastoral experience to his new responsibilities at Concordia Seminary," stated Dr. John F. Johnson, President of Concordia Seminary. "We look forward to the role he will play in the formation of our students as they seek to serve the Lord with the same type of dedication and faithfulness."

Rev. Rockemann received his baccalaureate degree from Concordia College, Seward, Neb. He received his master of divinity degree from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis in 1978. Prior to enrolling at Concordia Seminary, he served as Assistant Dean of Students at Concordia, Seward.

Rev. Rockemann replaces Rev. David Smith, who accepted a call to serve as senior pastor of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Des Peres, Missouri.
