New Testament Greek Video Series…What A Help!

The study of the Biblical languages is essential for one who will serve as both a pastor and a theologian for God's people. At the same time, it is the study of the Biblical languages which causes anxiety in many prospective seminary students.

In order to address this concern, Concordia Seminary, St. Louis has available "The New Testament Greek Video Series." The tapes feature the actual sessions of the 1997 summer school offering of "Elementary Greek" (course #EN-093 in the Concordia Seminary Academic Catalog), taught by Dr. James W. Voelz, the author of Fundamental Greek Grammar (St. Louis: Concordia Publishing House, 1993).

John Roach, a first-year seminarian from Missouri, says about his use of the tapes: "I found the Greek tapes to be very, very helpful. First, they provided a comfort level for me. I knew what the classes were going to be like. Secondly, I was familiar with some of the material -- it gave me a head start on the class work (this summer). Also you can use the tapes during the school year to help you clarify information you may not have picked up during the classroom time. I highly recommend the use of the Greek tapes."

The tapes are available on a rental basis from the Office of Admission and Ministerial Recruitment at the Concordia Seminary. "All we ask is a deposit fee for each set of tapes," said Rev. Scott Sailer, Director of Ministerial Recruitment at Concordia Seminary. "The deposit is returned when the tapes are returned. In effect, the rental is free, as long as the tapes are returned."

Those interested in taking advantage of the tapes are encouraged to contact: Admissions Office, Concordia Seminary, 801 DeMun Avenue, St. Louis, MO, 63105; or to call 1-800-822-9545.
