Fall Visitation Weekend 2002 at Concordia Seminary
Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, is pleased to invite prospective students and their guests to attend its 2002 Fall Visitation Weekend to be held Oct. 10-12 on the Seminary campus. The weekend is designed for those of college age and older. It provides an effective means of learning more about life in the Concordia Seminary community and the preparation that leads to service as a pastor, missionary or chaplain in The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.
Visitors will have the opportunity to worship with the Seminary community in The Chapel of St. Timothy and St. Titus, to visit classes and to tour the campus. Participants also will hear presentations on academic offerings, financial assistance, housing, resident field education, vicarage and the admission process. Guests also may wish to take advantage of the many recreational opportunities in the St. Louis area.
A significant addition to the schedule is the "Employment and Community Information Fair" to be held on Friday evening. Employers and representatives from area schools, realty offices and other organizations in the Concordia Seminary and St. Louis communities will be on-hand to share information and answer questions. "This event has been such a popular component of our annual Institute on the Ministry, we decided to offer it as a part of our Fall Visitation Weekend as well," commented Rev. Michael Redeker, admission counselor at Concordia Seminary.
There is no charge to attend the Fall Visitation Weekend, and all meals and lodging are provided free of charge. Round-trip transportation to Concordia Seminary from the airport, bus station or train station also is provided free of charge.
A special women's information session on Saturday morning has proven to be very popular and beneficial for wives, fiancees and girlfriends who attended past Fall Visitation Weekends. Women will also have the opportunity to participate in a bus tour of the community, including stops at specific points of interest, on Friday morning, immediately following the morning chapel service.
