Snow delivered the address on Wednesday, Nov. 13, in the Seminary's Clara and Spencer Werner Auditorium. It was interrupted several times by applause. Snow spoke of the United States as a nation at a crossroads following the tragic events of September 11, 2001. He referred to the nation's founding fathers and their view of government's role in the lives of people and their inherent trust in the nation's citizenry. Following his formal address, Snow responded to audience questions for nearly 45 minutes.

Snow was a nationally syndicated columnist with the Detroit News from 1993 to 2000, and a columnist for USA Today from 1994 to 2000. His writings appear in more than 200 newspapers nationwide.
