Rockemann Announces Acceptance Of Call

Rev. Larry W. Rockemann, vice president for student life, director of placement and assistant professor of practical theology at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, has accepted the divine call issued him to serve as chaplain at Lutheran Home and Services in Arlington Heights, Ill.

Rockemann received the M.Div. degree from Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, in 1978 and the bachelor of arts degree from Concordia College, Seward, Neb. in 1971. Prior to joining the Seminary faculty in 1998, he served congregations in Houston, Texas; Darien, Ill.; Bristol, Ill.; and Bristol, Conn. He also served as assistant dean of students, Concordia Secondary Lab School, Seward, Neb., and campus pastor at Concordia University, River Forest, Ill.

“Larry Rockemann served this institution, and particularly our students, with dedication and zeal for the past six years,” commented Dr. John F. Johnson, president of Concordia Seminary. “He was an excellent role model in his determination to be a pastor as much as a dean. He will be missed.”

Rockemann will continue his duties at Concordia Seminary until Nov. 12.
