Seminary Guild Completes Projects for 2004-2005

The Concordia Seminary Guild, St. Louis, Mo., announces the completion of its 2004-2005 projects, totaling $21,350 in donations. In addition, a new list of projects for the 2005-2006 academic year was adopted with a total of $20,403. The new project list can be viewed on the Seminary’s Web site at www.csl.edu/guild.htm.

“The Seminary Guild continues to be a cherished blessing in our Seminary community,” commented Rev. Glen D. Thomas, vice president for seminary relations at Concordia Seminary, who also serves as an advisor for the Guild. “Their efforts annually provide our students with textbooks, clergy shirts and many other items that make life on our Seminary campus more enjoyable for them.”

The Guild’s purpose is to cultivate a deeper interest in Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, and to provide items for the campus and students which are not ordinarily furnished by the Seminary. The Guild members hold no fundraising events. The projects only are completed once project donations are received. Project partners include individual members and friends, women’s ministry groups, congregational organizations and Sunday schools. Some organizations choose to adopt certain projects with the assistance of matching funds through Thrivent’s CARE in Communities program.

The Guild’s next meeting will take place on Friday, June 2, in conjunction with the Seminary’s Alumni Reunions. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m. on the Seminary campus. The presentation topic will be “Supporting the Academic Life” and is followed by a business meeting. Membership dues for the Guild are $8 per year for individuals and $15 per year for societies. Dues and/or offerings for Guild projects may be sent to Nina Boehme, 4602 Cedar Tree Lane, DeSoto, MO 63020. For more information about the Seminary Guild or its projects, call (314) 505-7374.
