Enthusiastic Alumni Attend Class Reunion
An enthusiastic group of approximately 200 alumni, spouses, widows and guests attended the Concordia Seminary Alumni Reunion, held May 30 - June 2 on the Seminary campus. This year’s reunion included graduating classes from years ending in a “1” or a “6.”
The theme for this year’s reunion was “Pastoral Formation—Then and Now.” The presenters included Brian Mosemann (Class of 1991), assistant professor of theology at Concordia University, Austin, Texas; Dean O. Wenthe (Class of 1971), president and professor of exegetical theology at Concordia Theological Seminary, Fort Wayne, Ind.; and David W. Wollenburg (Class of 1971), associate professor of practical theology and director of distance education at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. Dr. Dale A. Meyer, president of Concordia Seminary, delivered an address regarding current events and future plans at the Seminary and served as preacher at the Jubilarian Service on June 1.
Activities for alumni women included a May 31 lunch hosted by Diane Meyer and a June 1 brunch hosted by the Concordia Seminary Guild.
Reunion activities culminated with a June 1 banquet held in Wartburg Dining Hall. At the banquet, Rev. Paul Von Dielingen (Class of 1941) was honored with the Erwin T. Koch Award, an award given to the oldest reunion attendee.
