Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, recognized significant ordination anniversaries and commissioning dates of nine current faculty members and one professor emeritus during its morning chapel service on Dec. 13. Each professor was recognized and prayers of thanksgiving were offered for their service. A reception was held following the chapel service to allow individuals in the Seminary community the opportunity to express their gratitude.

The following Concordia Seminary faculty members were recognized:

  • Andrew Bartelt - 30 years
  • Kent Burreson - 10 years
  • Douglas Groll - 40 years (professor emeritus)
  • Reed Lessing - 20 years
  • Richard Marrs - 5 years
  • Joel Okamoto - 10 years
  • Paul Robinson - 15 years
  • Robert Rosin - 25 years
  • Richard Warneck - 45 years

“The years of faithful service to our Lord and His people given by these 10 men bespeak the faithfulness of our good and gracious God, who always gives His church gifts to carry out His work (Eph. 4:8, 11),” commented Dr. James Voelz, dean of the faculty at Concordia Seminary. “Together, they have served in many lands, in many languages, and in many stations and positions, both here and elsewhere, and we at Concordia Seminary are glad and proud to call them our brothers in Christ.”
