Who: Dr. Dale A. Meyer, president of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, as well as students, faculty and staff will have their heads shaved during the St. Baldrick’s Foundation head-shaving fundraiser. Participants have been growing their hair for months in anticipation of this event.

What: For the fifth year in a row, Concordia Seminary is participating in the St. Baldrick’s Foundation head-shaving fundraiser. This year’s goal is to raise $10,000 to help fund research to find a cure for childhood cancers.

When: 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28

Where: Koburg Hall, Concordia Seminary, 801 Seminary Place, Clayton, Mo.

More information: Since partnering with St. Baldrick’s in 2012, Concordia Seminary has raised more than $37,000 for the foundation, thanks to the volunteers who forego their hair in support of this worthwhile cause.

St. Baldrick’s head-shaving events give “shavees” a way to show their support by voluntarily shaving their heads in an effort to inspire friends and family to donate funds for childhood cancer research. Stylists from the Richmond Center Great Clips hair salon will be shaving heads on-site for their fourth year as well.
