Keseman appointed to Board of Regents
Rev. Bruce Keseman has been named to Concordia Seminary, St. Louis' Board of Regents. He was appointed by The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS) Board of Directors to complete the remaining term for Rev. Shawn Kumm, who resigned from the board effective Sept. 1.
Keseman serves as the sole pastor of Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church in Freeburg, Ill., located in the Southern Illinois District of the LCMS. He earned a Master of Sacred Theology in 1999 and a Master of Divinity in 1990, both from Concordia Seminary. His bachelor's degree in Biblical Languages is from St. John's College in Winfield, Kan.
"We welcome Pastor Keseman to our Board of Regents," said Concordia Seminary President Dr. Dale A. Meyer. "With his long years of pastoral service in one congregation, a congregation where he arrived as a mission developer, he's experienced changes as the congregation matured and in the changing community and society it serves. His insights will be helpful as the Board of Regents collaborates with the faculty and administration to serve congregations with the best of theological resources and servants for our challenging times."
According to the LCMS Bylaws, the Seminary's Board of Regents may have up to 13 members, which includes three ordained members, one commissioned member and three lay members, all elected by the Synod in convention; one Synod vice president appointed by the LCMS president; one district president selected by the LCMS Council of Presidents; and up to four members who have been appointed by the board itself. The president of the LCMS Missouri District also attends as an advisory member.
