Former Sem first lady enters rest
The Lord called to Himself Ruth Ann Johnson, former first lady of Concordia Seminary and Concordia University Chicago, River Forest, Ill., April 8. Her husband, Dr. John F. Johnson, served as Seminary president from 1989 to 2004, before being called to serve as president at Concordia, Chicago. While at the Seminary, Ruth Ann took an active interest in Seminary life and participated in many campus activities. She was devoted to the church and cared deeply for our students. Among the many fond memories faculty, staff and students recall were Ruth Ann's talks on congregational life and how a pastor can make a good impression.
A memorial service was held May 2 in the Chapel of the Resurrection at Concordia University. Please uphold Dr. Johnson and the family's loved ones in your prayers and with confidence in the resurrection of Christ and the promise of a joyful reunion through Him in heaven.
