Seminary to participate in Give STL Day April 6 to May 7
Matching gift will double donor gifts
For the first time, Concordia Seminary, St. Louis will participate in Give STL Day, set for May 7. Give STL Day, now in its seventh year, is an online giving event organized by the St. Louis Community Foundation for the benefit of nonprofits headquartered in the metropolitan area.
The Seminary’s goal for Give STL Day is to raise $20,000 that will be used where needed most as the Seminary continues in its mission to prepare the church’s future pastors, deaconesses, missionaries and teachers – an especially vital mission in these unprecedented times. Thanks to a matching gift from a local benefactor, donations to the Seminary’s Give STL Day campaign will be doubled dollar for dollar up to the first $10,000.
“Give STL Day gives our friends and supporters a unique opportunity to be involved in the eternal life-saving mission of Concordia Seminary,” said Vicki Biggs, senior vice president of Seminary Advancement and chief communications officer. “The event has taken on special meeting in light of the coronavirus pandemic. Despite this global health emergency, the Seminary’s mission continues. Every gift is important in our ongoing mission to ensure that the Seminary continues to provide the resources needed to form our future ministry leaders for generations to come.”
“Our campus is situated in the heart of St. Louis,” added Megan Duncan, manager of annual giving and Give STL Day campaign manager. “It’s especially meaningful to be a part of day that not only blesses the Seminary, but our neighbors, too. We thank our friends and supporters in advance for their generous support.”
To participate, make an online gift anytime between April 6 and May 7 at givestlday.org/concordiasem or call 800-822-5287. Individuals also can show their support for the Seminary by spreading the word on social media using the hashtags #GiveSTL and #GiveCSL.
