New Advent/Christmas Sermon Series available for download
‘Await God’s Future’ focuses on prophet Isaiah
A new Advent/Christmas Sermon Series, “Await God’s Future: An Advent–Christmas Sermon Series Based on Isaiah,” published by Concordia Seminary Press of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, is now available for download.
Written by Dr. Paul R. Raabe, professor emeritus of Exegetical Theology, the series is designed to encourage people to hear the future-tense announcements of the ancient prophet Isaiah, which instill in the hearts and minds of the listeners repentance, faith and hope in the coming of Yahweh.
“In a year like no other, Paul Raabe reminds us that the prophet Isaiah points us to a future that is always beyond our expectations, because it is God’s future,” said Dr. Travis Scholl, managing editor of Seminary Publications. “Likewise, the series is flexible enough that pastors and congregations can use it for whatever shape their Advent season will take this year.”
“Await God’s Future: An Advent–Christmas Sermon Series Based on Isaiah,” includes preliminary notes on the biblical texts, sermons for the four weeks of Advent, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and suggested hymns. The series can be used for either midweek or Sunday worship.
This sermon series is available for $14.95 in the Seminary’s online store. A sample is available for preview.
