2023 Prof Insights in-person workshops address contemporary issues

Faculty to lead 14 summer workshops across the country

How do the Scripture lessons for each Sunday “talk to each other?” How do we address pressing questions about the authority and interpretation of God’s Word? What roles do Law and Gospel play in our Christian caregiving? How can congregations help families raise children in the faith? These questions and more will be explored as part of the 2023 Prof Insights: Faculty-Led Workshop Series June through August.

This year’s series features 14 workshops by Concordia Seminary, St. Louis faculty and other scholars. All of the 2023 workshops will be held in-person at host congregations in California, Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Kansas, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, New Mexico and Ohio.

Designed for laypeople, pastors and church workers, the annual series offers in-depth study on contemporary topics that influence the practice of ministry and worship.

“Our faculty members look forward every year to the opportunity this workshop series provides to be with the people of our church and to delve deep into God’s Word together,” said Director of Continuing Education Erika Bennett. “In addition to the Seminary’s esteemed professors, this year’s series adds an international visiting professor to the speaker lineup. Our alumni love bringing their former professors to their congregations to share their wisdom, and we know participants will benefit from their insight.”

The cost for each workshop is $140, which includes Continuing Education Unit (CEU) credits for pastors. Registration and payment should be made no later than 14 days before the beginning of each workshop.
