Giving Tuesday campaign raises $100k
Unrestricted gifts to benefit Seminary where needed most
Hundreds of supporters teamed up for Giving Tuesday Dec. 3 to raise $100,173 toward an overall goal of $100,000 for Concordia Seminary, St. Louis.
The Seminary’s 2024 Giving Tuesday goal included dollar-for-dollar matching gifts up to the first $51,800 raised. The raised funds will be used where needed most to support the Seminary’s mission to prepare the church’s future pastors, deaconesses, missionaries and church leaders.
“We praise God for the awesome friends and supporters He has put in our path, and we offer heartfelt thanks to each and every person who contributed to our Giving Tuesday campaign,” said Vicki Biggs, senior vice president for Seminary Advancement and chief communications officer. “We are truly and deeply grateful for this display of love for our students and support for their preparation for service to the Gospel.”
The Seminary’s Giving Tuesday campaign encouraged students, faculty, staff and donors to spread the word by sharing the Seminary’s Giving Tuesday page and by using the hashtags #PrepareAPastor, #PrepareADeaconess and #GivingTuesday on social media. Supporters also were encouraged to create their own matching gift or challenge and to share it among their friends, families, congregations and alumni classes.
“I pray God’s richest blessings on all of the wonderful friends of Concordia Seminary who help support our mission and continue to make days like Giving Tuesday such a success,” said Karla Meyer, director of annual giving and Giving Tuesday campaign manager. “We are blessed and humbled by your continued generosity. Thank you!”
