New Dean of Faculty
Seminary President Dr. Dale A. Meyer announced Dr. David Peter as the new dean of faculty Nov. 7 to all faculty and staff.
“We all know the Christian character, diligent work ethic and love for our Savior and His mission that David consistently shows,” Meyer said. “His rich experience in parish ministry and in many facets of Seminary administration make him well-suited for this position.”
Peter’s new role leaves a vacancy in the chairmanship of the Department of Practical Theology, which will be filled soon.
Peter has been a faculty member since 1998. He served as chairman of the Department of Practical Theology from 2010 to 2018. He formerly served as the director of the Doctor of Ministry program (1998-2013).
Peter received his Master of Divinity from Concordia Seminary (1987). He also has a bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a Doctor of Ministry from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Ill. (1999).
