Dr. David Lewis is an associate professor of Exegetical Theology at Concordia Seminary, St. Louis.
Lewis has been a faculty member since 2004.
His areas of interest and expertise include biblical Greek, hermeneutics, the Synoptic Gospels (in particular the Gospel of Mark) and narrative criticism.
He received a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), Master of Sacred Theology (S.T.M.) and Master of Divinity (M.Div.) from Concordia Seminary (2020, 1998, 1994). He received a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from California State University in Fullerton, Calif. (1988).
He was pastor of Grace Lutheran Church in Crescent City, Calif. (1998-2004) and served as a guest instructor at Concordia Seminary (1995-98, 2003).
His writing works include “Cinema and the American Mind” in “The American Mind Meets the Mind of Christ” (Concordia Seminary Press, 2010).
He and his wife, Karen, have three children; John, Marissa and Courtney. He enjoys cinema and film analysis, wine, grilling and spending time with his family.
