Description
Divine Service with Dedication and Blessing of the Stained Glass Windows
Please join us for a special chapel service, beginning at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2. The chapel service will include a blessing of the new stained glass windows in chapel and distribution of Holy Communion. Professor of Practical Theology Dr. David Schmitt, a member of the stained glass committee that oversaw the design and installation of the windows, will preach and the Seminary’s premier choir, Laudamus, will sing.
Thanks to a generous gift from the Eugene E. and Nell S. Fincke Memorial Trust, stained glass windows were installed throughout the entirety of the chapel — chancel, transept, nave and narthex — between 2020 and 2022. The installation of the windows use the Te Deum Laudamus (We Praise You, O God), a historic text of praise to God, as a thematic touchpoint and depict the Crucifixion, Resurrection and Exaltation of Jesus Christ. Lynchburg Stained Glass of Lynchburg, Va., with senior artist Rich Buswell in charge of the design, installed the windows. Learn more about the chapel stained glass windows.
The public is invited to attend in-person or watch via live stream.
