Seminary Chorus Poised to Leave on Alaska Tour

The Concordia Seminary Chorus, under the direction of Rev. Henry V. Gerike, is poised to embark on a historic tour to Alaska. The tour, which will feature worship services and sacred concerts provided by the Chorus, will take place May 20-24, 2001. All members of the Chorus are Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, students who are preparing to serve as pastors in The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.

The Chorus will provide evening sacred concerts which include prayer, Scripture reading and congregational singing. In one congregation, the Chorus will offer vocal selections during Sunday morning worship services.

“The Chorus will leave St. Louis on Saturday, May 19, the day after our commencement exercises,” commented Rev. Glen Thomas, vice president for seminary relations at Concordia. “They will be covering many miles and we pray for safe travel and God’s abundant blessings upon their tour.”
