Concordia Seminary Presidential Inaugural Address Available on Web Site

The address delivered by Rev. Dr. Dale A. Meyer during his inauguration as the 10th president of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis is available on the Seminary’s Web site (https://stg.csl.matchbox.host/CSNews.htm) for online listening. It is offered in Windows Media and RealAudio formats.

“We have received many requests to post the address on our Web site, and we are happy to make it available to a much broader audience,” commented Rev. Glen Thomas, vice president for seminary relations at Concordia Seminary.

The address was delivered in the Seminary’s Chapel of St. Timothy and St. Titus on Tuesday, Sept. 20. The theme, “As One Who Serves,” is derived from Luke 22:24-27. “Let us be among one another as the One who serves,” Meyer said.

“At Concordia Seminary we will strive to form pastors and deaconesses, missionaries and leaders to extend the Good Shepherd’s mission of pastoral care and cure to people within and without the church,” Meyer commented. “It’s a great time to be at Concordia Seminary and that’s because Concordia Seminary is all about the Lord Jesus Christ.”

The final component of the inaugural festivities will be a special Bach at the Sem sacred concert on Tuesday, Sept. 27, at 7:00 p.m. in the Seminary’s Chapel of St. Timothy and St. Titus. Selections from Bach’s works are being chosen by Robert Bergt, director of the American Kantorei, to express the spirit of prayer and thanksgiving that accompanies the installation of a new Seminary president. There is no charge to attend this sacred concert and no tickets are issued.
