First Annual Lutheran Prayer Breakfast for St. Louis
Concordia Seminary is pleased to announce the first annual Lutheran Prayer Breakfast for the St. Louis area. It will take place on Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2006, from 7:00 to 8:30 a.m., in the Seminary’s Wartburg Dining Hall. Dr. Dale A. Meyer, president of Concordia Seminary, will be the featured speaker. Rev. Ray Mirly, president of the Missouri District of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod, will offer the opening prayer and devotion, and the Concordia Seminary Chorus will sing.
The theme emphasized at the breakfast, “For All the Saints,” was chosen to coincide with the fact that the breakfast will take place on All Saints Day. “This annual celebration will allow us to emphasize the eternal victory over sin, death and the grave that God gives to all who trust in His Son, Jesus Christ, for their eternal salvation,” commented Rev. Glen Thomas, vice president for seminary relations at Concordia Seminary. “We will celebrate with thanksgiving the lives of those whose souls have gone to be with the Lord, and emphasize the joy we have as Christians who live as free and forgiven saints here on earth.”
Reservations are mandatory for the breakfast due to the fact that seating is limited. The deadline for reservations is Oct. 20. Tickets cost $20 and $8 of that amount will be a tax-deductible donation to the Concordia Seminary Student Aid Fund. Tax receipts will be provided.
Additional information and a ticket order form are available on the Concordia Seminary Web site, www.csl.edu. Additional information may also be obtained by calling 314-505-7370 or e-mailing semrelations@csl.edu.
