The Concordia Seminary, St. Louis campus community celebrated significant ordination and commissioning anniversaries of five faculty, seven emeriti faculty and two staff members in the Chapel of St. Timothy and St. Titus Dec. 1. In total, the men and women have served the church a combined 530 years.

President Dr. Thomas J. Egger delivered the sermon. After the chapel service, he recognized each individual and thanked them for their service. “It is a joy to bear the name of Christ,” he said. “And it is a joy to be called as a bearer of the Word of Christ. We thank God for each one of you.”

Faculty recognized for their ordination anniversaries were:

• Dr. Richard Marrs, Professor of Practical Theology, 20 years
• Dr. Kent Burreson, Associate Professor of Systematic Theology, 25 years
• Dr. Joel Okamoto, Associate Professor of Systematic Theology, 25 years
• Dr. Paul Robinson, Professor of Historical Theology, 30 years
• Dr. Douglas L. Rutt, Provost, 35 years

Emeriti faculty recognized for their ordination anniversaries were:

• Dr. Robert Rosin, 40 years
• Dr. Andy Bacon, 45 years
• Dr. Andrew Bartelt, 45 years
• Dr. Paul Schrieber, 45 years
• Dr. David Wollenburg, 50 years
• Dr. Douglas Groll, 55 years
• Rev. Leroy Vogel, 60 years

Staff recognized for their ordination and commissioning anniversaries were:

• Deaconess Dr. Gillian Bond, Director of Deaconess Studies, 10 years
• Rev. Paul Sieveking, Campus Chaplain, 45 years
