The Chapel of St. Timothy and St. Titus, located in the center of the Seminary campus, reflects the Seminary community’s emphasis on worship as the central activity to its life and being. Since its dedication on Nov. 15, 1992, the chapel has served as the site for more than 2,000 daily services and numerous special services.

The chapel welcomes LCMS wedding ceremonies. Although campus activities and their scheduling take priority over any outside use, the chapel has been the wedding ceremony site for many of our LCMS brothers and sisters. The awe-inspiring stained glass windows and flood of natural light create a unique backdrop for special events. There are also several rooms available within the chapel that may be used as bride or groom dressing rooms or meeting spaces before or after a wedding ceremony.

The chapel has also been the site for several fine arts events, including performances from the University City Symphony Orchestra, Katie Luther: The Opera and St. Louis’ own Bach at the Sem concert series.

Home to the first library on the campus of Concordia Seminary, the Presidents Room continues the Collegiate Gothic architectural style seen throughout campus. The space was updated in 2014 with fresh carpet, paint and media equipment, while the original wood paneling, stained glass windows and chandeliers were painstakingly preserved.

The Presidents Room is named in honor of the past presidents of Concordia Seminary, St. Louis. Their intricately detailed portraits grace the room’s north wall, while art from world-renowned religious artists is displayed above the woodwork.

The space that Werner Auditorium now calls home was originally used as the campus chapel. After the Chapel of St. Timothy and St. Titus was constructed, the old chapel was gutted and Werner Auditorium was born.

343 stadium style seats fill the floor of the auditorium. The stage is outfitted with a variety of audiovisual controls. For those who wish to be a little less hands-on, the digital displays and screen can be controlled from the sound booth in the former chapel balcony.

Named after a German castle that served as a haven to Martin Luther, Koburg Hall once functioned as one of the two original dining halls. The Collegiate Gothic style is exemplified in the high Tudor style arches of the vaulted ceiling and the large carved stone fireplace. Chandeliers and many original stained glass windows provide lighting.

Koburg, a reception hall that is part of the original 1926 campus, has hosted a variety of events since its construction. Wedding receptions, awards banquets, radio show broadcasts, concerts, fine art exhibits and several annual student functions have all taken place in this unique space.

From the cabin gardens to the athletic field, the Seminary’s green spaces fit a number of needs. Fundraisers, barbecues, soccer practices and softball tournaments have all found a home in one of the meticulously landscaped areas at Concordia Seminary.

Holding an event outdoors can create some interesting challenges based on the time of year and St. Louis’ unpredictable weather; however, with a little creativity and plenty of rainout space as back-up, the Seminary will work with you to make your event a success.

 

Concordia Seminary offers a large array of classrooms, meeting rooms and conference spaces for large and small events alike, from conferences to one-one-one tutoring sessions.

The Seminary’s classrooms have recently been outfitted with digital video projectors and drop-down screens. Most have audio capability built in, while others are wired for recording purposes. We even have a digital video conference space should you have the need.
