Concordia Seminary to Webcast Audio and Video of Call Day Services
Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, is pleased to announce that it will provide free webcast access to both audio and video feeds in RealMedia® format of its April 25 Call Day services. The webcasts will be available from the Seminary’s Web site at https://stg.csl.matchbox.host/Resources_CallDay2006.aspx. Test links, free RealPlayer® download links and additional information regarding the webcasts are also available on the Call Day 2006 Web page.
“For the past several years we have provided audio webcasts of these important services, and we are excited about being able to provide video this year for the first time,” commented Rev. Glen Thomas, vice president for seminary relations at Concordia Seminary. “Those who will be connecting via a phone line should restrict themselves to the audio link. Those with high-speed Internet access should be able to enjoy both the audio and the video of the services without any problem.”
Approximately 163 students who will serve as vicars (a one-year internship) next year will receive their assignments during a 3:00 p.m. (CDST) worship service. During a 7:00 p.m. (CDST) worship service, approximately 107 candidates for the pastoral ministry will receive their first calls to serve as pastors, missionaries and chaplains in The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod (LCMS). Rev. Arleigh Lutz, president of the North Wisconsin District of the LCMS, will serve as preacher for the 3:00 p.m. service, and Rev. William Ameiss, president of the Northern Illinois District of the LCMS, will serve as preacher for the 7:00 p.m. service. Both services will be held in the Seminary’s Chapel of St. Timothy and St. Titus.
Also on that day, two deaconess students are expected to receive their internship assignments, and approximately nine deaconess students will be placed. This will be the third year that deaconess students from Concordia Seminary receive placement.
The vicarages and calls will be posted on Concordia Seminary’s Web site on April 25 at 9:00 p.m. (CDST). Lists also will be e-mailed at the same time via the Seminary’s e-mail list services, CSLNEWS and CSLPRESEM. Those who desire to subscribe to CSLNEWS prior to the April 25 services in order to receive the lists should access http://listserv.cuis.edu/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=cslnews&A=1 or contact Thomas at thomasg@csl.edu .
